This video is an example of an animal adaptation documentary.
Task Overview
Your task is to select an animal that lives in an extreme environment and describe their relative adaptations (ACSSU094). You will present your information as a documentary that will be played in the final lesson. Your documentary should be informative and contain all the relevant information listed on the task sheet.
GUIDELINE FOR THE TASK:
GUIDELINE FOR THE TASK:
- Choose an appropriate animal with an extreme physical adaptation.
- Correctly identify the environment that the animal lives in.
- State the SPECIFIC adaptation/s that relate to the animals environment.
- Identify why you think these adaptations have occurred (relate to the animals environment).
- Provide a brief description of the animal (diet, habitat, behaviour, features, interesting facts, etc).
- Record your information of the animal prior to starting planning.
- Produce a high quality storyboard.
- Produce a documentary that reports on the information gathered.
- Engage the audience through using a variety of editing (music overlay, voice over, images, etc) and filming techniques (costumes, props, setting, etc).
Information Gathering
Select an ENVIRONMENT from the options below. Choose one of the animals listed under the environment and begin to investigate that animals adaptations.
desert"A desert is a barren area of land where little precipitation occurs and consequently living conditions are hostile for plant and animal life. The lack of vegetation exposes the unprotected surface of the ground to the processes of denudation." (Wiki)

Deep Sea"The deep-sea is defined as the part of the ocean below 200 meters depth. This environment Is considered extremely harsh with temperatures of below 5 degrees Celsius, extreme pressure, and no sunlight. Deep-sea animals have had to evolve, often through unusual and unique adaptations, to live, reproduce, and thrive in these unique conditions." (Waller, R & Shank, T)

Using a storyboard, plan out what your documentary might look like. Ensure to create a logical sequence to your documentary where the film tells a story. Include a lot of facts, photos and videos of your animal. You must be very descriptive when producing your plan as it will make the filming process a lot easier. Once you have completed your storyboard let a teacher check it , if approved start filming your documentary.
MUST BE INCLUDED:
MUST BE INCLUDED:
